Hmm, dude cuts quite the jaunty figure in these shots, doesn’t he?

New York Comic Con was quite the experience. I ran into several dozen snappy dressers and oddly enough, some TARDIS and Dalek impersonators. What a strange day.

Good stuff here. For reals:

11 Riffs on Creativity & Time – by Jeffrey Davis
Most creative people with whom I work and study – scientists, authors, designers, entrepreneurs, marketers, teachers – find their optimal mix between messy chaos and creative order in their work life. Almost without fail, their chief complaints revolve around time – not enough of it or not sure what to do with it. Instead of managing time, sculpting time seems to me a useful reframe for creatives. I offer 11 riffs on sculpting time here.
Serious bizness, yah. But I can’t help it. This strikes me as, um, well, erm funny:

Showtime’s ‘Homeland’ Receives Threat of Legal Action From Government of Lebanon – by Team TVWriter Press Service (via UK Telegraph)
The award-winning Showtime drama “Homeland” has received a legal threat from Lebanon, with the country’s minister of tourism expressing outrage at Beirut’s portrayal by the show as a city filled with terrorists, reports the U.K.’s Telegraph.
The story was reported before Beirut was rocked Friday by a deadly car bombing.
For the dweeb who has everything: (In other words we’re taking up a collection and getting one for LB)

Doctor Who TARDIS Trash Can (ThinkGeek)
No more mess!
Let’s face it, when you’re working your tail off refactoring code, writing up reports, diving into spreadsheets, or designing kickass graphics, you don’t have time to clean… or even to empty your own garbage can. And so it happens… your garbage can becomes full, and then you start perching things on top of the ever-growing pile rather than actually empty the bin.

Synopsis for “The Pact”
Overall, I thought this episode was an improvement over last week’s. Not only that, I learned something: Criminal Minds ain’t what it used to be. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, depending on your perspective.
What I like most about CM is the mystery aspect—the team profiling, finding, and arresting/killing the perpetrator(s). But over the past couple seasons there has been a trend toward featuring the unsubs (unidentified subjects, in case you don’t know) and their stories. So what used to be a mystery show has morphed into 43 minutes of suspense, with the team becoming superfluous because they are two steps behind the audience.
