  • Neal Baer & Alexandra McNally (UNDER THE DOME) are developing a medical drama series for CBS about “the deeply personal and raw stories of…dedicated health care workers…at a clinic in Venice that serves as a crossroads for the haves and have-nots.” (Gotta say, tho, that yer dearly beloved munchman ain’t sure he trusts storytellers who use “Venice” when they mean “Venice Beach” as though, you know, nothing beyond their precious Los Angeles might even exists. Or maybe I should chalk that one up to some very shortsighted PR peeps?)
  • Jennifer Schuur (HANNIBAL) is writing the script for an ABC pilot called THE LONG GAME, based on a treatment by novelist Kate Atkinson about a “gutsy female forensic accountant who exposes fraud for a living.” (Yeah, that sounds exciting! I mean, nothing against accountants, but the last time I talked to mine I fell asleep just punching in his cell number.)
  • Lance Krall (IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA) is writing HOLLYWOOD & VINE, a comedy series based on material from the Vine video platform. (Cuz the web’s time has come, dear children. Hop aboard the bus and rocket to stardom! For reals.

That’s it for now. Write in and tell munchilito what you’ve sold today. TVWriter™ can’t wait to brag to all your friends. (And, more importantly, enemies. Hehehe….)

  • Glenn Gordon Caron (MEDIUM) has a new overall deal with 20th Century Fox TV for the usual development stuff. (But Ye Munchie One is secretly hoping that what he develops isn’t usual at all. Whaddaya think? Can Glenny Boy go outre? We’ll find out.)
  • Hilary Winston (BAD TEACHER) has sold a comedy that sounds a lot like THE OFFICE to NBC, based on a Playboy column she originally wrote, called “When Your Boss Has a Vagina.” (Wanna bet that isn’t what NBC ends up calling it? Any takers? Huh?)
  • <Hunter Covington (IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA) & Stacy Traub (GLEE) are developing a comedy about a successful businesswoman who can’t seem to succeed at life for ABC. (What’s that you say? You’ve heard this particular premise before? A thousand times before? Geeze, gang, lighten up. Not everything on TV can be as new and different as…as…well, dang it, I just can’t come up with a name for a current show like that right now.)
  • David Klass (LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT), Perri Klass (RUNAWAY VIRUS), and Arthur L Caplan (the guy this new series will be about)  are writing the pilot for CBS’ AUSTEN’S RAZOR, about “a brilliant bioethicist who is called in at crisis moments to solve the most complicated, dynamic and confounding medical issues imaginable.” (Zzzz…oops, sorry, I fell asleep there just copying the description. Which pretty well sums up how well I think a show like this one will do.)

For those of us who want the vicarious thrill of being in-demand:

  • Stacy Traub (GLEE) has a pilot deal with Fox for DIRTY BLONDES, starring Angela Kinsey and Rachael Harris (who we’re supposed to know for some reason, but how can they be stars if we have to google ’em to find out who they are?)
  • Abby Kohn &Mark Silverstein (THE VOW)) are adapting Adulting: How to Become a Grown-Up in 387 Easy Steps by Kelly Williams Brown into a sitcom for Fox. (Um, no, we never heard of THE VOW either, but J.J. Abrams is producing that explains that.)
  • Jeremy Anderson & Patrick Moss (sorry, can’t find any credits for these guys anywhere) are writing a pilot for yet another soapy series based on Great Expectations at ABC. (Dickens? Pip? Again? Now you know why we aren’t knocking ourselves finding out molre about the writers. They’re gonna phone it in anyway.)
  • Lauren Bachelis (nope, no credits here either) is adapting her blog Hollywood Assistants into a sitcom, 20-NOTHINGS, for CBS. (Yay, beginning writers who leapfrog over me! Not.)
  • Uma Thurman is joining the cast of Lars Von Trier’s film, NYMPHOMANIAC. (No, she isn’t a writer. No, this isn’t even happening in television. But we’re so thrilled to find the name of somebody we recognize doing something show-bizzy somewhere that we just had to share. What? No, Lindsay Lohan’s latest fight with her mother absolutely does not count.)
