Along with popular television shows such as The LieutenantStar Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, affectionately known in many sci-fi sectors as “The Great Bird of the Galaxy,” created a number of other series beyond his most well-known franchise.

Many of Roddenberry’s non-Trek significant TV properties materialized after the initial demise of what is now known as The Original Series, and prior to the development of Star Trek: The Motion Picture, which ignited and expanded his Trek universe into feature films in 1979.

The Writers Guild of America is on a roll in its war over the packaging fees that talent agencies collect for lining up most of the talent in a television series. Having recently scored agreements with UTA and ICM that include a stipulation to end packaging fee practices by 2022, the WGA convinced a California federal judge on Wednesday to allow it to proceed with legal claims against CAA and WME. What’s more, the guild will be able to pursue injunctive relief. read article
