Along with popular television shows such as The Lieutenant, Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, affectionately known in many sci-fi sectors as “The Great Bird of the Galaxy,” created a number of other series beyond his most well-known franchise.
Many of Roddenberry’s non-Trek significant TV properties materialized after the initial demise of what is now known as The Original Series, and prior to the development of Star Trek: The Motion Picture, which ignited and expanded his Trek universe into feature films in 1979.
The more recognizable of these non-Trek projects were several unsold made-for-TV science fiction pilots including Genesis II, Questor, Planet Earth, Strange New World, and Spectre…..
