Along with the popular series The Lieutenant, Roddenberry also created a number of other series.

Many of his significant television properties, aside from Star Trek, materialized after the initial demise of what is now known as “The Original Series,” and prior to the development of Star Trek: The Motion Picture, which ignited the feature film franchise in 1979.

The more recognizable of these non-Trek projects were several unsold made-for-TV science fiction pilots including Genesis II, Questor, Planet: Earth, Strange New World, and Spectre. read article

Larry Brody’s Poetry: The Navajo Dog Teaches A Lesson

by Larry Brody

NOTE FROM LB:

This poem hurts too much for me to read now because, I think, I’ve learned the lesson my friend was trying to teach me. Haven’t fully absorbed it, oh no. But I’ve lived that lesson. And live it still.

The joys of binge-watching
by Scholars and Rogues

For the past year I have had some health issues that have taken me out of active circulation—nothing life-threatening, but certainly life changing during the period, and for a little while yet. One of these was a broken bone in my foot that had me sitting in front of the television for a solid six weeks, leg up on the hassock and (for the moment) out of the boot thing they give you these days.

All of this has largely plunked me in a chair in front of the television, for a considerably longer time frame that I would have considered healthy, or laying on the couch with my laptop on wherever your lap is when you’re laying down. “Valerian & the City of a Thousand Planets”

Nope, this isn't Valerian. But it is the reason we know we're going to love Luc Bresson's upcoming film.
Nope, this isn’t Valerian. But it is the reason we know we’re going to love Luc Bresson’s upcoming film.

Are you a fan of Luc Bresson’s awesome 1997 s-f film The Fifth Element? You aren’t alone. Even though it isn’t a TV series (if only!), it’s one of the all-time favorite feature films here at TVWriter™. Which is why we’re jumping for joy at the prospect of Bresson’s upcoming upcoming Valerian and the City of  a Thousand Planets.”

On its face, this should be at the very least an amazing looking film. And, in this short trailer, it definitely is just that. Glorious!

Dunno about you, but wild planets couldn’t keep us from watching this on opening day – not till July 21, 2017, dammit! read article
