Kim Dotcom Wants K.im to Trigger a “Copyright Revolution”

As the trailer above for a new film about his situation indicates, Kim Dotcom probably has been accused of being the world’s most successful – as in richest – intellectual property pirate and currently is fighting extradition to the U.S. from New Zealand. Which makes the following article about his current plans even more fascinating than it might otherwise have been:

Kim Dotcom hopes that his new file-sharing service K.im will create a “copyright revolution.” The platform will offer a secure platform for people to share files and get paid for them while offering copyright holders the option to monetize piracy.

For many people Kim Dotcom is synonymous with Megaupload, the file-sharing giant that was taken down by the U.S. Government early 2012. read article

Best known to TV viewers as Oscar Goldman, the government supervising official for the O.S.I. (“Office of Strategic Intelligence” – a.k.a. “Information”) on The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman, Anderson’s staple role on those two sci-fi superhero series of the ‘70s became signature for several reasons. read article

I hear it all the time:
“Do I have to write a synopsis?”
“Why do I have to write a synopsis?”
“What the heck is a synopsis?”

Answers:
“Yes you do.”
“Because.”
“You better do a little research – seriously.”

Okay, plainly a synopsis can be a very different animal for every writer. But who it is for doesn’t change. It’s for the reader whether a script reader or a novel reader. It has to be short, succinct and really hook ‘em. read article
