Entry 15 – Juggling Life and Passion Part II

So, last week I said that I would delve a bit deeper into the tasks we all face while making our dreams come true. And, I can’t think of a better way to do that than to start from the beginning.

You see, for this New Year, I decided to reprioritize my life by figuring out what’s important to me and shredding away anything that wasn’t. And, that process lead me to four areas of major importance: health, family, work, and passion. Now, it’s worth mentioning that I am a man of faith and believe that these four areas alone could never provide personal fulfillment. However, I believe that through God’s grace I can be successful in all of these areas to a degree that I will be personally fulfilled. read article

Well, we’re back at it again. A New Year, with a renewed passion for Cargo 3120! So obviously we at Team Cargo took a nice break over the holiday season. And let me tell you, it was a break much needed, as each of us were able to recharge our batteries for all the tasks needed for this New Year!

Over the past few months, Aaron and I have discussed the various skills we’ve had to learn in order to get to this point. However, we have not gone over the various juggling acts we’ve had to perform in order to make Cargo 3120 happen. read article

Entry 13 – The Ins and Outs of the Animatic Short

As I stressed last week, having a strong online presence is important. However, we didn’t want to limit ourselves to a website and social media. Meaning, backstory, concept art, and personnel bios are great, but we also wanted to provide our audience with actual content. But what? A one shot comic? A collection of character and location sketches with captions? A trailer/teaser of some sort? In the end, we decided to merge all of those ideas into one, an Animatic Short.

Last year, I took an audio production class at El Paso Community College. For our final project, we had to produce and audio program on any subject we chose. Naturally, I wanted to make a Cargo 3120 audio show! Aaron was just as excited about the prospect of (at least) hearing the world that we were working so hard on. read article

Entry 12 – How Important is Social Media?

So, as Aaron worked on our website I was in charge of social media. Now, I’m not one of those frequent “facebookers”, “tweeters”, or “instagramers”. At least, I wasn’t at the time; but in order to develop any type of audience these days, social media is a must.

I mean, it’s not like it used to be; back in the day, marketing campaigns were all about purchasing TV/radio spots and/or some sort of printed publication. And that was it, because that’s where everyone’s eyeballs were. Today, even if you have those marketing vehicles, the everyday consumer expects you to have a strong online presence, because that’s where the eyeballs are now.
