The CW’s CULT Is No More

Cult-CW

CULT, Rockne O’Bannon’s series about TV as, oh, the Devil, we suppose, is on its way out at The CW…and may well be history by the time you read this.

The show only managed a 0.3 rating in the 18 to 49 demo in its first two outings, which makes its cancellation justifiable homicide in any TV exec’s book. read article

Peer Production: More about UNTITLED WEB SERIES ABOUT A SPACE TRAVELER WHO CAN ALSO TRAVEL THROUGH TIME

untitledwebseries

Travis Richey, the creator of this terrific series, which used to be seen on a little cult TV show called COMMUNITY, is readying Season 2 of his newly renamed – yet again  cuz that’s how he rolls – Not Inspector Spacetime web series.

The show is up on Kickstarter right now, with just a couple of days to go to reach its goal of $10,000 so it can go into production. As of this writing it’s very close, but we recommend you get over there and consider taking the plunge anyway cuz we know y’all wanna be in, hip, and trendy, and this is the in, hip, and trendy Kickstarter series to be part of. Hell, even LB coughed up a few bucks. (The man’ll do anything to get his name on the credits of a show.) read article

Leesa Dean: Adventures of a Web Series Newbie – Rollo

rollyl

by Leesa Dean

Let’s call him “Rollo*.” Yes, he’s the fanboy I went out for coffee with. This is how it happened:

Every day I write to people. People with blogs, radio shows, who are influencers, essentially begging them to watch Chilltown and Lele’s Ratchet Advice Show. That’s part of the gig. Sometimes they write back and it’s great. We get interviews or featured. And we’ve been incredibly fortunate. Gotten a great outpouring from people. Been luckier than most. But more often than not, people don’t write back. At all. Good times!!! On a side note, if you’re into getting rejected don’t bother hiring a dominitrix to demean you or joining an online dating site. Simply release a web series. read article

Angelo Bell: Inspiration Time

Well, that’s how we see this piece. Even though Angelo gave it another very cool name:

BROKEN DREAMS
by Angelo Bell

Dreams Don’t Have Deadlines by Mark Victor Hansen discusses how individuals allow their dreams to fade away, and die. They succumb to the pressures of life and the peer pressure of people we love and respect. They allow the boring day-to-day minutia of life to overwhelm them, so instead of choosing the freedom of happiness, they become enslaved by the safety of routine.

Look around you. Everywhere people are simply going through the through the motions. Lather. Rinse. Repeat. – Lather. Rise. Repeat. Enjoyment of life is a far off thing. read article
