Writing Gig Op: Lifehacker is looking for a staff writer

One of the web’s top sites is hiring, kids. Somebody’s going to get this high profile gig, why not you?

by Melissa Kirsch

Are you full of strong opinions on the right way to do things that you’re dying to share with the world? Do you geek out over everything from how best to pack a suitcase to the finer points of cell phone etiquette? Do you give incredible advice, if you do say so yourself? Are you also a smart, curious, witty, detail-oriented writer who wants to help people improve their lives?

Then we want to hear from you.

Lifehacker has an immediate opening for a staff writer. This is full-time position with competitive salary and good benefits, working out of Gizmodo Media’s New York City mothership, where you’ll pitch and write stories, star in videos, go on adventures, and bring our audience of tens of millions the best-in-class service journalism they clamor for/for which they clamor.

We’re looking for someone with a minimum of two years writing for a consumer-focused outlet.

Sound good? Apply!

We are also hiring a social media editor, so if you think you should be paid to write clever tweets about sous vide cooking, drop us a line.

We can’t promise that this is the gig of a lifetime, but Lifehacker is on this TVWriter™ minion’s Feedly must-read list and has been helpful as hell. If you do go the gold here, please let us know how it went, win or lose. Who knows? We may publish your experience as an article right here.
