Writing Gigs: Writers Wanted in L.A.

Yeah, we know. Writers are always “wanted” in L.A. Except when you’re the writer and you try to sell somebody your work or your services.

Still, the L.A. Craigslist always seems to contain an awful (and they do often seem pretty damn awful) lot of showbiz writing gigs just waiting (or not) for your/our magic talents. read article

From Craigslist’s Lips to God’s Ears

Looking for a young, like minded and talented writing partner to write a pilot with me for a show concept I have based on high school. Please feel free to text or email if you have any questions.

Here’s the LINK as, once again, a brave soul advertises for a TV writing partner on Craigslist, this time in the San Francisco Bay Area. And this time, as with all other times, our heartfelt advice if you’re thinking of answering is: Be careful.

And, of course, we’d really like to hear from you about how this turns out if, in fact, you contact the like-minded advertiser.

Did you know that nobody has ever told us what happened when they’ve responded to a Craigslist “writer of whatever kind wanted” ad? LB says that must be because they’ve all been eaten. What d’you think? (And yeppers, this is a question you can answer without responding to the ad.)

Writing Gigs: “Under the Radar” Looking for New Writers

under_the_radar_issue_58_the_protest_issue_med_res_new_writers_neededUnder The Radar Magazine is looking for new writers to write about music, films, TV shows, comic books, books, and – yes, for reals – DVDs.

Here’s the help wanted ad on their website:

Under the Radar is actively seeking experienced new writers to write for our print magazine, digital magazine for tablets/smart-phones, and our website. We’re not only looking for music writers, but are also on the hunt for writers who want to write about any of these entertainment mediums: film/DVDs, TV, comic books, and books. For example, we need more film writers based in New York City who can attend screenings and review films for us. Our regular writers also get to weigh in on important editorial decisions, such as who to put on our print magazine covers and what we think the best albums of each year are. Interested parties should please email writing samples to austin@undertheradarmag.com. read article
