Screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada27 Dresses) was taking a break from her latest film project when she stumbled across an animated Disney parody on YouTube. The woman behind it was Rachel Bloom, and after bingeing on every Bloom video she could find, Brosh McKenna knew she wanted to work with her.
