Bri Castellini: 2019, Noticed – @brisownworld

by Bri Castellini

Been a while! I foresee a handful of New Years Resolutions not being fulfilled this year, because this year has been… unexpected.

Last year was insane for me, one of the busiest years I’ve ever had, one of the most creatively rewarding, and one that I felt very strongly about not repeating right away. “2019 will hopefully be defined by boundaries and balance,” I stated in a blog at the end of last year. I even made my work Slack status “Boundaries and Balance 2k19” for a while, because branding is important.

And then 2019 actually started and I remembered that I’m me and that’s not how things tend to go in my life. read article

5 Reasons Grammar Purists Can Go Fuck Themselves

At last! A click bait headline we can get behind. More than get behind, actually. This TVWriter™ minion wishes she’d written it…because I totally agree with what Lucy V Hay has to say here:

F Off, Grammar Purists
by Lucy V Hay

Grammar purists have always nestled like alabama ticks in every dark corner of the internet. In the past year or so, they seem to be everywhere! These guys police statuses, tweets, threads and then call those out they feel are ‘unacceptable’. (Why anyone who doesn’t like colloquial speak online would follow a platform like B2W, I have no idea. Some people are their own worst enemy, yet point fingers at others as being ‘the problem’. Le sigh). read article

Bri Castellini and Chris Cherry are at It Again – @brisownworld

TVWriter™ pal Bri Castellini and Bri Castellini pal Chris Cherry clearly don’t have enough to do. In addition to their web series Sam and Pat are Depressed, their podcast, Bri and Chris are Depressed, and all their individual projects, they’ve taken on something new.

Their new show also is a podcast, this time one with an absolutely insane premise. It’s called Burn, Noticed and here’s how they describe it:

Burn, Noticed is an episode-by-episode discussion and deconstruction of the USA television series Burn Notice. Co-created and co-hosted by myself and Chris Cherry. This podcast is currently in development and will launch its first full episode on July 22nd, 2019. Burn, Noticed is available on Spotify and, soon, iTunes. read article

Productivity Info We Sure as Hell Hope isn’t True

Ageism is the irrational exclusion of people of a certain age (or, if you will people beyond a certain age) from employment, right? And all of us, including this particular TVWriter™ minion, who is well over TV writing’s oft-discussed age limit of 40, agree that ageism is discriminatory, unjustified, and needs to be stopped, right?

But what if it is justified? I mean, WTF?

Madman, Architect, Carpenter, Judge: Roles and the Writing Process

Time now for a solidly thoughtful and genuinely helpful article about something we all need help with from time to time – how to overcome all the usual articles and not only start writing something you love but keep going all the way to the finish.

Oh, and it’s also solidly and so darn civilly written that alone has made us smile since we first saw it. Our thanks to Betty Flowers, former Director of the Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library, and to Michelle Gordon, who first brought this to our attention.
