Speaking of crowdfunding (as we were earlier in the week) this adaptation of the award-winning novel Lullaby, written by the author of a certain cult favorite novel called Fight Club, looks like a really good thing to this fussy (I am, honest…just ask my mother about my eating habits) TVWriter™ minion.

He’s been publishing his amazing work online for about 7 years now, and LB and the minions have been moved to laughter and tears (really!) by everything we’ve ever seen him do.
No one sets out to fail when raising money for their beloved project, be it a film, a book, an invention, whatever. But far too many people fall short of their crowdfunding goals. Here are some tips on avoiding their fate:
Hark, Filmmakers! For I hath climb’d the Big Data Mountain and I returned with holy verses for when thouest plans to commit thyself to speak to the masses via crowdfunding and ye shall thee listen… ok I can’t keep this up. I’ll be honest – I liked the headline, but carrying on the tone will get tiresome for you and I.
Here’s an interesting new approach to funding and distributing work by new filmmakers. The Bureau of Creative Works will help 12 different filmmakers create 12 new short films which will, according to its Kickstarter page, be distributed “exclusively to the very supporters who helped make that film possible.”
The project page explains that 80% of the funds will go directly to the production budget of each film with the other 20% “split between Kickstarter / Amazon / VHX fees, and then operating cost, ie., The Bureau.”
Yesterday we all were treated to Matt Schwartz’s awesome STRAIGHT OUTTA GOTHAM mashup, and today…lo and behold, we find that Matt’s at it again and needs our support.
Yep, dood’s on Kickstarter for the next 22 days, looking for funding for his latest music video. But why should we strain at finding the right words of explanation when Matt’s already got ’em:
In October 2014, I got laid off (thanks, Obama!) and was unsure what to do with myself.
