This cartoon has made the rounds of the interwebs so thoroughly, that we couldn’t find who to credit for it.
It wasn’t supposed to be about TV (or film writing) but simply about “business.” But since our business is creativity, Your Friendly Neighborhood Team TVWriter™ noticed more than just a few similarities to our Not Necessarily So Friendly Industry.
Or, as William Fordes once said, while working away as a writer and producer on Law & Order: “We get into this business seeing ourselves as muralists. We wake up to find we’re house painters.”
As far as we at TVWriter™ are concerned, nobody anywhere communicates the feelings creativity arouses in both audience and creator as well as Grant Snider, philosopher-cartoonist extraordinaire.
