WGA, AMPTP Reach New Three-Year Deal

Yeppers, that’s what the Hollywood Reporter is saying, and we all know it’s always right.
WGA members have either received or are about to receive an email with the details. Nobody at TVWriter™ has gotten theirs yet, but here’s what the Reporter is telling us to expect:
the new three-year deal provides for 2% annual wage increases and a one-time 1.5% increase in employer contributions to the guild’s pension plan.

TVWriter University Update

Well, it had to happen sometime. We have a sudden cancellation in the upcoming Master Class given by LB his very special self, and that means there’s one surprise opening as of the April 10th starting date.
LB’s Master Class is for pro or pro-level writers only. People you’ve heard of have taken it, for crying out loud, wanting to get Larry’s feedback on various assigned projects before turning in their first drafts.
WGA: “Vote No on the Comcast-Warner Cable Merger”
by Team TVWriter™ Press Service
Yep, the Writers Guild of America has filed a report urging that the merger be denied, saying “The FCC should deny the proposed merger…which woulds give too much power over broadcast and cable networks. Comcast’s ability to blackout one-third of television viewers would force networks to agree to terms and rate st by Comcast, harming…programming.”
The Guild also said a hell of a lot more. You can read the entire filing here.
Remember, boys and girls, until this business is settled, TVWriter™ recommends we all close our eyes tight and send out good, healing energy to the greedy bastards who want to destroy the sandbox, making them so happy that they no longer feel the need to, you know, fuck us.
