(Actually, this is a good thing for those of us amongst the Great Writing Unemployed because it shows that DTV is now open for comedy proposals. So if you didn’t call your agent after reading the last item, the time to punch in her numero has re-arrived. Hmm. Is that a word? It should be.)
Matthew and Daniel Libman (HAPPY ENDINGS) are writing the comedy pilot DUTY for Comedy Central cuz…it’s a comedy, you know? (Bastards! It’s not like they need the gig. No way their hefty savings from HAPPY ENDINGS are already gone. Unlike the savings of a certain muncher with whom I’m very close who is thisclose to being homeless. Sigh.)

I love making things. I always have. I remember as a youngster spending hours drawing pictures of Spider-Man and Dragonball Z characters. As a kid I also played piano (a skill I hope to reclaim) and more recently, I dabble in acoustic guitar. In college I started and continue to write fiction and poetry. A year and a half ago I began creating this blog. As of a few months ago I also make weird rap songs about philosophers, 90s cartoons, and chupacabras.

Actually, storytellers were much more than all-round traveling public service units back in the days of yore. For aboriginal people, storytellers were sacred, prophet-minstrels whose tales gave order to the chaos of their lives. But I’d never expect a fucking actor like Robby Redford to know that.
Still, the guy’s done a pretty good job with his Sundance gig, including the creation of the Sundance Episodic Story Lab, which is all about preparing you, me, and whomever else can crack open the gate and get in, a quick, down, and dirty course in writing for TV.
Well, okay, so Robby probably didn’t do it, but, hell, he has even more minions than LB so…that.
