I recently gifted an advance reader copy of The Eidola Project, my first published novel, to TVWriter™’s Larry Brody with a huge thank-you for providing the impetus to write it.

He responded a few days later with a review of the first twenty-five pages, saying how much he was enjoying the book. He also asked me to write a piece for TVWriter™ on how I came to write this “wonderful” (his word!) novel at the cusp of qualifying for senior discounts at various retailers (I’m 63). The WGAW Board, WGAE Council and WGA Agency Negotiating Committee on what’s happening vis a vis our kerfluffel with the various literary talent agencies and our preparedness for upcoming Minimum Basic Agreement negotiations with the various studios, networks, production companies, et al. 

Dear Members,

The latest news in the agency negotiations is that the Guild continues to have useful discussions with several individual agencies.  All of them have asked for confidentiality, and honoring those requests is part of building the trust that allows the possibility of making deals.  As soon as that happens, we will let you know. read article

THE USUAL NOTE FROM LB: From the summer of 2002 to  the spring of 2010, Gwen the Beautiful and I were the proud and often exhausted owners of a beautiful Ozarks property we called Cloud Creek Ranch.

In many ways, the ranch was paradise. But it was a paradise with a price that started going up before we even knew it existed. Here’s another Monday musing about our adventure and the lessons we learned.
