Here at TVWriter™ we’re all gung-ho about indie video and film making, especially of the ultra short and cheap variety. If you’ve given that a try, you’re probably familiar with the costs, work, aggravation, and rewards for web series and such.
Some indies, however, may be a bit more ambitious. This one’s for y’all:

It’s high time indie filmmakers started sharing data. Yes, that includes your budget and your earnings. I’ll go first.
With her new book, THE ONLY WOMAN IN THE ROOM: EPISODES IN MY LIFE AND CAREER AS A TELEVISION WRITER, Rita Lakin writes so well what she knows so well about.
A ground-breaking talent, Lakin was one of the first female writers who graced the behind-the-scenes of the small screen. Her first TV script, “A Candle in the Window,” an episode of Dr. Kildare, executive produced by David Victor (Marcus Welby, M.D.), was a fine precursor of what was to come:

I’ve seen every episode of Killjoys since this series about intergalactic bounty hunters first debuted on SyFy in 2015, and I’m going to lead this review off with what may be a shocking confession:
I haven’t understood a single thing I’ve seen in any episode except the various sex scenes that have appeared from time to time. Yet, still, I watch. And watch. And watch.
And I can’t for the life of me explain why.

NOTE FROM LB: People often ask me why The Silver Surfer animated series went off the air (leaving the ultimate cliffhanger – the destruction of the universe) – um, hanging, and I give them all the answers I was given at the time:
