Opinions. Everybody’s got ’em. To us, they seem a lot like Sam Goldwyn’s opinion of verbal contracts: “They’re not worth the paper they’re printed on.”
Wonder what Dan Harmon thinks. Anyway:
This past season of ‘Community’ was not a shining example of what I’d come to love for three seasons. Will the show’s renewal bring with it the Dan Harmon-like fun it used to have?
We didn’t know! We’ve got to see! But before we start searching, we also want to share what we just learned:
WB’s ‘The Looney Tunes Show’ isn’t your childhood ‘Merry Melodies.’ It’s more a grown-up version of ‘Tiny Toons’ geared to the pop-culture-oriented adult.
It’s a new Cartoon Network Series! It’s a fantasy adventure show! Created by Rebecca Sugar, formerly a major player on the ADVENTURE TIME crew! Pretty cool!
For awhile anyway.
And, yeah, I do have some concerns. Mainly that Michael J. Fox’s new show is going to make me cry too much (for him) while I laugh.
And, just between us, I was one of the writers of the original version of IRONSIDE, and this ain’t IRONSIDE. It’s more LUTHER IN A WHEELCHAIR. (Which, come to think of it, could be better.)
The full title wouldn’t fit into the headline spot, so here it is: HOW TO LIVE WITH YOUR PARENTS (FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE).
And that title is precisely what this show is about. Shocking right? But in addition to being a description it’s kind of a prescription as well, pigeonholing the series. Allow me to explain.
Polly leaves her husband, takes her daughter with her as she moves in with her parents because she has nowhere else to go. Six months later, she’s still living with her parents, working at a smoothie place in a grocery store, yet determined to be the most successful single mother role model for her daughter.
