Dear Mr. Brody,
I don’t know whether you’ll remember me, but in the late 1990s I submitted several scripts through TVWriter. You repeatedly offered advice and encouragement while I was still learning the craft. I recently came across some of my old screenwriting correspondence and was reminded of how generous you were with an emerging writer.
I kept writing.
Recently, my short Soulless, Inc. reached the Top 10 in Creative Screenwriting Shorts, earned multiple semifinalist placements, and received an invitation to participate in a HollyShorts monthly screening. My feature screenplay The Ladder was requested by a management company, and I now have a substantial portfolio of completed features and shorts.
Your encouragement during those early years helped me continue when it would have been much easier to stop. I simply wanted to thank you and let you know that your advice stayed with me.
