In the Fall of 2022, after over 50 years as a television writer/producer and 24 teaching on the internet, Larry Brody, TVWriter.Com’s founder, publisher, and Editor-In-Chief, retired to devote himself to his family, friends, pets, and various interests for which he’d never before had what felt like enough time, including – of course -experiencing not only the miseries of old age, but also its mysteries.
Now, 18 months later, at the age of 79, LB is responding to an absolutely mind-blowing number of requests for the return of TVWriter™ and bringing the site back.
This isn’t a sequel, a reboot, or a deliberate re-imagining but a well-intentioned and hopefully helpful time machine style return of information and advice for the curious, creative, and driven professionals, amateurs, and fans who’ve been (God help us) literally clamoring for it.
Not everything originally posted here has returned. Much of the missing material has become obsolete because of changes in the Industry – should we even call it “TV writing” in view of how broadcasting for all practical purposes has been totally replaced by streaming video? – and in technology – who could have imagined how much the process of backing up and restoring data via redesigned apps, new servers, strange (and stubborn) AIs would alter the final result?
All of us here at TVWriter™ hope you’ll find what we’ve done entertaining, educational, and inspiring. And with that thought in mind, we return you to where you began
