Latest News About Writers Who Are Doing Better Than We Are=&0=& (BONES) have their own new series brewing at Fox. ZOOBIQUITY is a medical drama based on a nonfiction book by Barbara Turner & Kathryn Bowers. (Which tells munchito here that it might be good cuz, yeah, I admit it, I loves me my BONES.) Dan Kopelman (MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE) is developing a CBS comedy about “four best friends from college who are still living together as bachelors 10 years after graduation. (Sounds like a tragedy to me. Or maybe the tragedy is mine. Have I really aged out of the TV sitcom target demo at 31? Yikes!) Jason Reitman (yeppers, the feature dude) & Zander Lehmann (newbie!) are developing an NBC comedy called CASUAL, about, it sez here, “the perils of dating, online and off.” (Don’tcha love the timelessness of the concept? Even this munching fool of an alte cocker novel can relate.)

That’s it for now. Write in and tell munchilito what you’ve sold today. TVWriter™ can’t wait to brag to all your friends. (And, more importantly, enemies. Hehehe….)

Latest News About Writers Who Are Doing Better Than We Are

  • Dan Kopelman  (RULES OF ENGAGEMENT) has sold the pilot for THE HENCHMAN, a sitcom, to Fox. (PR descriptions remind us of both DESPICABLE ME and THE VENTURE BROTHERS plus it’s live-action, so we’re smiling in anticipation.)
  • Lee Eisenberg, Gene Stupnitsky, & Danny Chung (THE OFFICE) have sold GORGEOUS MORONS, a sitcom about two very buff but very stupid brothers to CBS. (Which reminds us of every Coen Brothers film ever made so, you know, how bad can it be?)
  • Jason Horwitch (RUBICON) has sold NOONE, a romantic detective series pilot, to Fox. (Where it’ll be run by BONES’ creator/EP Hart Hanson, so – OMG! – we’re looking forward to this one too.)
  • Mike Arnold (ARCHER) is writing the pilot for an untitled ABC sitcom, and, frankly, we don’t care what it’s about we’ll watch it anyway. (Cuz ARCHER just happens to be the best-written show in the history of the entertainment biz, so…)
  • Kelly Masterson (upcoming KILLING KENNEDY) is writing the pilot for an  ABC murder trial mystery called LIMELIGHT. (This one sadly breaking our current optimistic streak because KILLING KENNEDY is based on a book by Bill O’Reilly and, well, you know….)

Latest News About Writers Who Are Doing Better Than We Are

  • Dan Kopelman (RULES OF ENGAGEMENT) is writing the pilot for an untitled Nickelodeon comedy about a 12 year old Army brat. (Although the majority of sites that report on this kind of thing bury his name and concentrate on the fact that one of the producers is the star of another upcoming Nick series. Notice that we aren’t naming her. Take that, big stars!)
  • Jack Moore (newb!) has landed a gig on Fox’s new sitcom US & THEM. (And he did it via his Twitter feed @seinfeldtoday, which features loglines for nonexistent contemporary episodes of the old SEINFELD series. Why didn’t you think of that? Huh?)
  • Nahnatchka Khan  & Corey Nickerson (DON’T TRUST THE B— IN APT 23)  are writing the pilot for FATRICK, a Fox Network sitcom about, no, you’re wrong, not a fat guy but a former fat guy. Ha! (See how they did that? Pulled the big set-up switcheroo, we man? That’s the kind of thing that makes you rich even if your last series bombed.)
  • Todd Holland (TWIN PEAKS) is writing an untitled science fiction project about an immortal bounty hunter to NBC. (Because THE HIGHLANDER feature film reboot is doing so well. Oh, wait, hasn’t it been abandoned? )
