Ah, how times change. Not that long ago, wherever I went people would ask me, “How do I get an agent?” Or, more directly, “Can you get me an agent?”
Or, even more directly, “Get me an agent!” minus any question mark whatsoever.
These days, however, the most common question I encounter when I meet new humans, even those who want to be writers, is, “What TV shows are you watching?” So, since that’s a much easier question to answer, here’s the current LB (and wife Gwen the Beautiful) TV Viewing List As of Mid-Summer, 2015.
In no particular order:
- DARK MATTER – Syfy
- NO OFFENCE – Channel 4 (UK)
- KILLJOYS – Syfy
- PROOF – TNT
- MAJOR CRIMES – TNT
- VICIOUS – ITV (UK)
- HUMANS – Channel 4 (UK)
- MR. ROBOT – USA
- MISFITS – Channel 4 (UK)
- RITA – Netflix
- MISS FISHER’S MURDER MYSTERIES – ABC (the Australian ABC to be precise)
Recently watched and enjoyed TV shows include:
- CHASING SHADOWS – ITV (UK)
- DCI BANKS – ITV (UK)
- ELEMENTARY – CBS
- EPISODES – Showtime
- INSPECTOR GEORGE GENTLY – BBC (UK)
- INSPECTOR LEWIS – ITV (UK)
- GRACE AND FRANKIE – Netflix
- VERA – ITV (UK)
- THE GRAHAM NORTON SHOW – BBC (UK)
- THE ALMIGHTY JOHNSONS – TV3 (New Zealand)
- POWERS – Sony PlayStation Network
Hmm, notice any trends here?
Quick Thought: Right now in the Brody household it’s looking like DARK MATTER, KILLJOYS, and PROOF will be falling off the “Watching” list soon, as in today, because both Gwen and I have realized that after sampling three of each the only thing we want to do with any of these shows is delete them from our DVR list.
Another Quick Thought: We’re looking forward to the imminent returns of RICK AND MORTY (Adult Swim) and DOCTOR WHO (BBC), plus BOJACK HORSEMAN (Netflix), and FOYLE’S WAR (ITV), which we’ve been promised are coming soon.
Last Quick Thought Because Enuff Already!: We watch all of these shows via one time-shifting technology or another. Haven’t sat down to see anything at its original broadcast time in years. And of all the shows on this list the ones that have priority, by which I mean absolutely must be seen ASAP after they’ve been recorded, are MR. ROBOT, MAJOR CRIMES, VERA, and first and foremost for reasons I myself can’t comprehend, POWERS.
Whew. Gotta go – it’s time to binge watch PENNY DREADFUL and see where that ends up on the list.
