Wired comes through with a realistic look at what TV has – and will – become. Basic premise: With the rise of the interwebs and social media and alternate ways of watching television, the whole thing about ratings determining what advertisers pay is obsolete…and the smart programmers know it.

If Miles Davis’ music told us anything, it’s that there is meaning in silence. In the spaces between the notes. And in good writing we can find ourselves transfixed by the beauty and meaning of, yes it’s true, the spaces between the words:
If Miles Davis’s midcentury trumpet solos can be described by a single phrase, it might be “doing more with less.” Despite his renown, Davis wasn’t a flashy or highly technical player during the late 1950s and early ’60s. He was melodic and economical, and his approach can teach prose writers a lot about the power of concision, suggestion and space.
Because if you know enough, you can start making your own. And web comics can be the perfect first step to web video. And web video, of course, is a great way to get into indie production. And indie production…

One of the most enduring questions in the history of online file-sharing asks whether something bad will come from downloading and/or sharing a particular product. Will the the recording and movie industries come knocking? Will the police or even the FBI take an interest? Are the evil bottom-feeding trolls watching my torrents? It’s a complex area, but one that’s fairly easily understood.
