Erik Bork Screenwriting Webinar

We just learned that Erik Bork, writer-producer on the HBO miniseries BAND OF BROTHERS and FROM THE EARTH TO THE MOON, is holding a webinar on “Creating Original Series Ideas and Writing Spec Pilots” on August 1, 2012.

We don’t know Erik, and he doesn’t know us, but the two HBO projects won him two Emmys and two Golden Globes so he probably knows his stuff. Ergo, we recommend him. read article

A drug counselor friend of ours says that addicts  “lose” all the years in which they’re addicted. Get too attached to your drug of choice at, say 8, and if/when you ever get out of a successful rehab (say at 42), your emotional age will still be 8.  Which isn’t necessarily a negative…especially if you’re an actor:

SAN DIEGO — There are lots of people dressed like Superman at Comic-Con, but the real guy – or at least the actor playing him in the latest Superman film – made a surprise appearance at the fan festival.

“Man of Steel” director Zack Snyder presented new footage from the film on Saturday and introduced star Henry Cavill to an audience of more than 6,000 fans.

The British actor said “it’s a dream come true” to play the iconic superhero, but confessed “it is pretty intense.” read article
