by Team TVWriter™ Press Service
Yes, we’re about to throw a press release atcha. But it’s for what looks to be like a very productive and, more than that, a potentially exciting weekend. Or to put it another way, we here at TVWriter™ sure as fuck wish we’d thought of this:
With web-based video production and distribution in national boom, local and regional filmmakers are creating video content designed from inception the web, transforming the way we watch movies and episodic programming as a culture. And with more and more local filmmakers creating their own web content, NOVAC is going to do what it does best: bring national talent and expertise to New Orleans, hosting a conference that develops community, networking and learning opportunities for local and regional filmmakers with the Web Weekend 2013 Conference, held from October 18th – 20th.
Held at the New Orleans BioInnovation Center in partnership with the New Orleans Film Festival and sponsored by the City of New Orleans and the Downtown Development District, NOVAC will present panel discussions, Conversations, parties and featured video content from online and webseries celebrities.
Panelists include Mark Ganntt, Claire Graves, Angela Tucker, Andrew Mer, Mike Tringe, Ally Hord, and Charles Ingram, with more, apparently, to come.
The Think Tank
As part of its organizational commitment to developing local filmmakers, NOVAC will also host a Web Weekend Think Tank, an opportunity for selected local web series creators to get the critical feedback from our visiting panelists and mentors that they need to improve and expand their projects. Some of the local webseries creators showcasing their work and participating in the Think Tank inlcude: NOVAC Sponsored filmmaker Helen Krieger (Least Favorite Love Songs), CJ Hunt & Kyle June Williams (Sunken City), and Aryka Randall (Girl Play), to name a few.
Get A Pass
Admission to the 3-day conference is $20 for NOVAC Members, $30 for non members, and $40 at the door. Passes will be available for purchase September 15th. More information about Web Weekend can be found on the website or by calling the NOVAC offices at 504-940-5780.
Forty bucks? Thirty? Twenty? How do they do it? We think this is awesome. Good luck, Web Weekend!
