Larry Brody: That was Then, This is Now

by Larry Brody

Click above or on the images to the right of this post to go to two of the three core sections of this site. Keep scrolling down the center for TVWriter™’s blog.

Yes, it’s true, change is doing its thing here at TVWriter™.

You’ve probably noticed that today’s posts don’t include the usual Top Viewed Posts of the week and Trending on TVWriter™ lists. We are, however, providing a link to where you can find them.

They’re here, at https://tvwriter.com in the right hand menu about halfway down every page of the site. You may not have noticed (most visitors haven’t), but they’ve been there for several months, and it seems redundant to me to also email and post the lists as articles when they’re already available, updated not weekly but daily.

That right hand menu also figures into other changes, all intended to make the site more user-friendly and efficient, and, yes, easier to manage.

Starting today, only material created by TVWriter™ staff, guests, and myself will be featured in the center blog area of the site while most of the material from elsewhere on the web will be accessible via links in the right hand menu.

I suppose I should have used the word “most” in the first sentence in the paragraph above also because in order to bring you sites that are difficult to access or deliberately geared to another audience from time to time I’ll be posting them in the center blog also.

Of necessity, the center blog will have fewer entries, but the two topics I consider our core (along with the center blog posts) – “Writing & Showbiz News” and “Writing & Showbiz Tips,” will be beefed up with more content and easily clickable in the right hand menu. (Above the Top Viewed and Trending lists.)

“Writing & Showbiz News” will continue to update every 2 hours, 24/7. The latter two topics will update twice a day. The first one will continue updating every two hours, 24/7. “Writing & Showbiz Tips,” and “Writing & Showbiz Job Ops” are upgrading to two updates each day.

Before I forget, some of you may be missing the “Writing & Showbiz Job Ops” page, but not very many. We’ve removed it from the site because, well, it was one of our bottom 10 attractions. In the year or so we’ve been running it, just about no one has ever taken a look…and absolutely no one ever contacted us about the material there.

Here’s hoping everything turns out well, for you whom I love so much and for your Tiring (I refuse to say “Aging”) Uber Editor, AKA LB. Your input on this is most welcome, as usual.
