NBC Buys Another Procedural – From Kelsey Grammar

Well, from his company anyway. Gramnet Productions and Lionsgate have sold the most active network buyer in town (the town being L.A., okay?) a drama series called PARIAH.

Written by Kevin Fox, whose credits include LIE TO ME, LAW & ORDER: SVU, the feature film THE NEGOTIATOR, and the novel Until Next Time, PARIAH could well be the weirdest project on any network’s development list: A cop show based on the various “Freakonomics” books and website, created by economist authors Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner.

Danny Boyle’s ‘The Beach’ Being Developed as a TV Drama at Fox – by Allison Willmore

The 2000 Leonardo DiCaprio film “The Beach” may be considered one of the lesser entries in Danny Boyle’s filmography, but does it have the makings of a decent television show?

Fox seems to think so — Deadline is reporting that the network has signed on to develop a TV series based on the movie and the 1996 book written by Alex Garland from which it was adapted (Garland also scripted Boyle’s 2007 sci-fi drama “Sunshine”). read article
