This is how I’ve felt about Season 8 so far:
Until “God Complex”. Now I’m all:
Rejoice–the show I love is back! At least for one episode. What’s so great about “God Complex?” Lot’s of mystery and misdirection. The team profiling and solving before we see things happen, not after. Solid dialogue that didn’t make me think about the dialogue. The introduction of a “love interest” (don’t you dare groan) who served a purpose. The case is solved, but another issue is revealed that makes you want to tune in next week. IOW–writing done right.
My only quibble was the very last bit, which was stupid. So stupid I can’t even talk about it without:
Otherwise, a fantastic episode, one of my top ten of this series, ever. And I’m not the only one who thinks so:
