Bad ideas never die, they just get worse and worse:

The CW lassos a new Wonder Woman origins series – by Meredith Woerner
You can’t kill Wonder Woman — she’ll only come back stronger. Not long after NBC officially pulled the plug on its own Wonder Woman show, The CW has decided that they would like a shot at the lady with the lasso of truth.
The pilot will be penned by Allan Heinberg (the Grey’s Anatomy writer who also wrote the Wonder Woman comic briefly) and is titled Amazon. The show will start when Wonder Woman was just Wonder Girl, or possibly Wonder Teen — still finding her way as a young hero. So don’t expect any invisible jets just yet. Thus far, the buzz is only about the script. The pilot has not been greenlit. Here’s hoping they get her right this time.
As far as we’re concerned, there isn’t a chance they’ll “get her right this time.” Nobody’s ever gotten Wonder Woman right, not even her creator, William Moulton, in the comics. Dullest character to ever last this long. Maybe what we should really be hoping for is that after they screw up this version she effing stays effing dead.
Meed the writer, Allan Heinberg:
Allan Heinberg is an American film screenwriter, who wrote Young Avengers for Marvel Comics, and has been a writer and producer on The Naked Truth, Party of Five, Sex and the City, Gilmore Girls, The O.C., and Grey’s Anatomy. Wikipedia
Uh-oh, a waitress in the coffee shop where I’m typing this just looked over my shoulder and said, “He’s cute.” The next Steve Trevor, you think?
While I don’t disagree with anything you said about WW, I think if this show is really just Smallville with a cute girl at the center (or a more generalized, non-vampire specific version of Buffy), it could work.
In fact… this might be the best shot WW will ever get — a no tights/no flights WW would get rid of that stupid costume and jet… and the character would be able to be less of a stone-cold warrior (as in her Justice League cartoon incarnation) and more “human”.
Call me crazy, but I’m a little jazzed about this, because its on CW. This could be an entertaining train wreck filled with all kinds of opportunity to fling snark, instead of just a train wreck.
