This time, RINGER creators Nichole Snyder and Eric Charmelo are trying to work the magic at NBC, which now must have about 50 years of pilots in some form of development. Which does kind of stack the odds against each project making it on air. So our suggestion to everybody reading this is, no matter how cool this new show may sound, don’t get too attached.
‘Ringer’ Creators Developing Gothic Thriller for NBC – by Lesley Goldberg
Three months after The CW canceled its Sarah Michelle Gellar drama Ringer, creators Nicole Snyder and Eric Charmelo have sold another thriller — to NBC
The network has given a blind script commitment to an untitled sexy gothic thriller set in New Orleans that’s described as being rich with tradition, superstition and murder.
Snyder and Charmelo will pen the drama and executive produce alongside TBD Productions’ Peter Traugott and Rachel Kaplan for Universal Television. Traugott and Kaplan also co-executive produced the Ringer pilot.
It’s gothic! It’s set in f-ing New f-ing Orleans! It’s sexy! It doesn’t have Sarah Michelle Gellar! What more could any network ask for?
This could be interesting. Fingers crossed. (Although, let’s face it, we’re starving writers, ergo, we have much more fun when we talk about failure and crap.)
