According to Bloomberg.Com, Twitter is working hard to create business partnerships with Viacom and Comcast to include professional quality video as one of Twitter’s services.
The idea here is that cool video content will cause users to spend more time on Twitter and, therefore, to watch Twitter’s ads. The plan is to add more entertainment and news video which Twitter would stream to its captive audience of interweb gossips, narcissists, and just plain folks.
All this is predicated on the reports that hordes of TV viewers are tweeting while watching their favorite shows, so watching on Twitter would be an easy switch.
Meanwhile, no word on how Twitter’s current content partners, Disney, Weather Channel, and Turner Broadcasting would contribute to this exciting, post-ironic greed-and-laugh-in.
