Arlene Klasky & Gabor Csupo – Who, BTW, Have a Way Cool Website

I never thought very highly of Klascky-Shupo Animation.

RUG RATS?

DUCKMAN?

REAL MONSTERS?

WILD THORNBERRYS?

OLLIE MONGO?

Who the hell cared?

Then, today on YouTube, I saw this:

BUKOWSKI #5

Cartoon Animation short, produced by Klasky Csupo Animation.

Based on the writings of Charles Bukowski. Written by Bruce Wagner.

Whatcha been up to since then, Gabor? Anything else worth watching? Drop me a line and let me know.

  1. I have a soft spot for Duckman and Stressed Eric, but my favorite Klasky Csupo piece is the Beastie Boys’ “Shadrach.”

  2. Unlike Mr. Muncher, I’ve always thought K-C was one of the top animation content suppliers in TV. I do, however, have one complaint about them.

About 15 years ago, those bastards had the nerve to turn down a project I offered them. It was called LIL’ POOP and the nutshell description is that it was GUMBY except that all the characters were, literally, shit. Oh, and Lil’ Poop himself got stepped on and squished to death at the end of every episode.

For some strange reason the K-C development peeps laughed me out of the office and never spoke to me again. But I still daydream about all the great toys we could’ve had.
