So the good news, according to Deadline.Com and various other sources, is that HENCH, the comic by Adam Beechen and Manny Bello about a dood who works as a henchman for various supervillains is being developed for TV.
The not so good news, however, is that it’s being developed for NBC by the same people who completely screwed up the U.S. version of PRIME SUSPECT last season.
To top it off, this isn’t the first time HENCH has attempted to go all filmic on us. About three years ago Warner Brothers tried to set the comic up as a feature film, intended for a release in 2011.
Have you seen that film? Nope, didn’t think so. Neither have we.
Here’s hoping this version turns out more successfully. And that means that not only does it make it to air, but the show is actually good, as in enjoyable enough for an audience of real human beings to want to see.
Yeah, Peter Berg, we’re talking to you. Can you walk your talk? Can you make this show even better than THE VENTURE BROTHERS was its first couple of seasons? Huh? Huh?
Well, you’d better, pal. ‘Cuz we’ve got our eye on you. And we have henchmen too.
