TVWriter™ congratulates everyone who entered PEOPLE’S PILOT 2018, with a special round of applause today for the Semi-Finalists. You have demonstrated courage, hard work, and skill, and you all should be proud of what you’ve written. We know that all of us speaking for the contest certainly are.
The PEOPLE’S PILOT considers a score of 7.00 as signifying Professional quality. We’re happy to say that this time around the median entry score in the Comedy Script category was higher than ever before at 8.35, and the median Drama & Action category score was a solid 7.45. Professionalism was the name of the game.
For our boss, Larry Brody, and the judges of PEOPLE’S PILOT 2018, the highlight of this our 27th outing has been the experimental nature of so many of the entries in both categories.
New perspectives! New subjects! New approaches! What a satisfying sensation to be drinking genuinely new wine in new bottles instead of the same old, same old that we see all too often on TV.
It takes courage to write that way, and everyone at TVWriter™ feels fortunate to have been able to read so many boundary-breaking scripts. From where we sit, it looks like the current Golden Age of TV will soon be shining more brightly than ever.
COMING IN 2 WEEKS: The PEOPLE’S PILOT 2018 Finalists. See you then!
