Love & Money Dept – TV Writing Deals for 10/17/14

Latest News About Writers Who Are Doing Better Than We Are
by munchman

  • Kevin Falls (FRANKLIN & BASH) has a new overall deal at 20th Century Fox TV. (So if you know him and the two of you go to lunch, make sure Kevin pays.)
  • Speaking of Kevin Falls, he’s already developing a drama project about an alum who becomes president of his university for Fox. So while you’re eating you might tell him all about when you were a university president and how, uh, dramatic it was so you can get on the staff when things reach that point. (And then you can thank der munchhausen by getting me the one lousy freelance assignment the show will have in the back 9, okay?)
  • Jim Serpico (basically he’s an exec but ya gotta forgive him) and Tom Sellitti (MARON) are writing UNCLE CHUBBY’S, a comedy about an intramural hockey team, for IFC. (Am I missing something here? I think I’m missing something.)
  • Sheri Elwood (she’s big in Canada) has sold BONE HOUSE, “an offbeat comedic family drama/mystery that centers on an estranged group of siblings who own and operate a private autopsy company, to The CW. (And, yeppers, meine freunden, I’m definitely gonna try out anything with a premise like that. Everybody knows that private autopsy companies are the new rock bands, am I right?)

That’s it for now. Write in and tell munchilito what you’ve sold today. TVWriter™ can’t wait to brag to all your friends. (And, more importantly, enemies. Hehehe….)
