There we have it, after hours – days – weeks – feels like years – of reading and reacting and analyzing and discussing and swearing and strangling, two different teams of judges have determined the Best of the Best of the many wonderfully conceived and written entries in the 2017 PEOPLE’S PILOT.
In the regular judging this time around, Claire Bostrom’s, Single Sex, the highest scoring Comedy entry and Meredith Bagby’s 2nd Place finisher were separated by only 1/6 of a point, with Steve Boudreault’s third place entry a mere 3/10 of a point behind them.
In the Drama/Action category, the 1st Place finish was even more of a squeaker, with only .05 of a point between J. Lee’s The Sharp Co. and Susan Hippen’s 2nd place entry, with Kathryn Graham’s 3rd place script only 1/6 of a point below. All three of this category’s winners finishing with judging totals of more than 9 points out of a possible 10.
While we’re at it, we would like to point out that the Winner of our very first Special International Production Award, Allie Theiss, came through with a series and script that the judges believed was the most likely to succeed as a candidate for – you guessed it – international production, like a genuine superstar.
As usual, LB will be posting his reaction to and interpretation of the entries and results as soon as he can (LB’S NOTE: Next week at the latest!) so keep your eyes out for that.
And, of course, he’ll be sending out his personal Feedback on all the entries starting next week so all those who entered and worked so hard will have the best idea possible of the strengths and weaknesses of their endeavors.
Remember, please, that our Beloved Leader is writing every single one of the Feedback emails himself, so please be prepared to wait as long as a full month for yours to arrive. No angry, “Where’s my Feedback, dammit?!” messages until after March 15th, okay?
Congratulations to the Winners, Runners-Up, Finalists, Semi-Finalists, and everybody who entered. We Really Love You Mean It for all the work you’ve put in and hope you love yourselves for it as well. You are the possessors of extraordinary talent, courage, and perseverance and should be very, very proud!
