TVWriter™ congratulates all the Semi-Finalists. You’re awesome.
The overall caliber of the entries made the judges’ choices extremely difficult. The most competitive category was Sitcom. In addition to there being almost twice as many sitcom entries as in any other category, Sitcoms had more scores in the 9-10 range than we’ve ever had in the entire contest before.
Similarly, the bar definitely was raised in the Action/Drama/Dramedy category and the TV Movie/Screenplay/Special. The judges had a ball reading everything…and you should have heard the fights over who the Semi-Finalists should be.
On second thought, we’re probably all better off because you didn’t. Celebrate well, Semi-Finalists. You prevailed over the toughest opponents in the Spec Scriptacular yet and deserve to brag, brag, brag.
